Project 1:

Atlantic & Burlington County Sites

264 - DEP #1

The Department of Environmental Protection agency's disposal sites #1 and #2 are located along Nacote Creek in Port Republic.  These were created for dredging of the waterway connecting the DEP's Fish and Wildlife office to Nacote Creek.  Both locations are small, side-cast disposal sites composed primarily of silty material.   However, during the initial dredging of the waterway, a small amount of pre-holocene uplands sand and gravel were deposited at these sites due dredging below the initial mud/silt layers.
