Upland Island
142 – Windy Bay #1 143 – Windy Bay #2 144 – Windy Bay #3 145 – Windy Bay #4
Windy Bay #’s 1 to #4 are a series of upland island sites directly north of the Laurel Harbor lagoon development community. Site #143 was investigated and photographed. The location confirmed the site’s classification as an upland island. There was no indication of the placement of dredge material, and the site’s interior included mature maple and oak trees. Evidence of deer and smaller land mammals was present. No samples or cores were taken, but white sand was present on the surface. Windy Bay CDF #’s 1, 3, and 4 all were in the same general area and looked similar in origin and environmental condition, therefore they were not investigated. |
