Unconfined Disposal Site
147 – Cedar Beach
Cedar Beach is a state-owned unconfined disposal site (UDS) in Berkeley Township. The 1.9-acre site is owned by Ocean County and is located at the end of Ohanlon Avenue in Cedar Beach. Barnegat Bay borders the eastern shore of the UDS; the mouth of Cedar Creek is 0.25 mile to the north. The 500ft x 25ft site is very oblong in shape and runs adjacent to a dike. The site could have been used as a side-cast material placement site when the dike was initially created or the deposit is related to unfulfilled plans to continue development out the north along the bay frontage. GPS and sediment data were not collected.
