Unconfined Disposal Site
149 – Bayview Avenue
Bayview Avenue is a municipally-owned unconfined disposal site. The 1.5 acre site is 400 ft. south of Bayview Avenue in Berkeley Twp. The southeast corner of the site is bordered by the Barnegat Bay. Two mosquito channels divide the site roughly into thirds, but little evidence of use as a sediment storage site was present. The site is fairly symmetrical in shape and moderately vegetated. Additional excavation is located along Bayview Avenue with the excavated sediment deposited between a “closed” lagoon and the roadway. Clearly additional development was the intent, not dredge material storage. GPS and sediment data were not collected. |
