Confined Disposal Site
153 – Mikes Island
Mikes Island is a state-owned island in Toms River Twp. The island is located directly west of Ortley beach (6th avenue) and 400 ft north of the Inward Thorofare site (#246). On the southeastern corner of the island is an unconfined disposal site that is approximately 1.0 acres and very symmetrical. The site is lightly vegetated and very sandy. The site has similar characteristics to Inward Thorofare, the island to the south. No GPS or sediment data was collected at this site. Spatial and sediment data was collected for Inward Thorofare. |
