Unconfined Disposal Site
161 – Northwest Point Island
Northwest Point Island is located in Barnegat Bay, situated between Chadwick Beach and Silver Bay in Toms River Township. The island is a narrow strip of land pointing to the northwest. On the island is a small unconfined disposal site (UDS). The disposal site is approximately 0.60 acres and is heavily vegetated. This location faces the northwest wind fetch across the Barnegat Bay and could be a natural sand beach against the marsh deposit that the beach protects. GPS and sediment data were not collected at the site. |
