Upland Island

167 – Seaweed Point

Seaweed Point is an unconfined disposal site (UDS) located in the Shore Acres region in Brick Township. The disposal site sits on land belonging to various owners covering approximately 5 acres. Knoll Crest Avenue divides the site, the western half of which borders Holly Avenue. The disposal site is approximately 0.4 miles north of Seaweed Point. The site occupies land belonging to several owners including federal, state and private. GPS and sediment data were not collected for the site. The observations made at the site tend to support the presence of some quantity of deposited sedimentary material, not locally excavated, but much of the area is a low relief natural uplands site surrounded by salt marsh.
