Project 1:
Priority Confined Disposal Facility – CDF
24 - Lightning Jacks CDF
Lightning Jacks CDF is a 2.7 acre dredge disposal facility located on the property of Lightning Jacks Marina in Brick Township, Ocean County. It is confined by steep, well-defined berm walls that are approximately 25ft (NAVD88) crest elevation and lightly covered with Phragmites. A large oval-shaped mound (165ft x 65ft) of dredge material encompasses the middle of the CDF’s interior and maximum heights of the mound reach 35ft NAVD88. Along the interior toe of the berm, there is significant pooling of water, particularly in the southwest corner along the weir box. The CDF appears to have been actively used in the last year and currently (11/2008) contains about 66,432 yds3 of dredge material.
