Project 1:
30 – Herring Island #2
Herring Island #1 and #3 are state-owned unconfined disposal sites located on Herring Island. The island is located 0.5 miles north of the Mantoloking Bridge, directly west of Mantoloking in Brick Township. Site #3 is a heavily vegetated 4.7 acre site on the northern spit of the island. Site #1 is a lightly vegetated 5.4 acre site on the southern end of the island. Both sites have little to no confinement. Sediment and GPS data were not collected for Herring Island #2 because it is assumed that the sediment characteristics are similar to Herring Island #1. |
