Project 1:Confined Disposal Site – CDS
90- Tuckerton Creek #2
Tuckerton Creek CDS # 2 is a 7.1 acre privately-owned confined disposal site. The CDS is within 500 ft Barnegat Bay Blvd. and the eastern berm wall borders a Barnegat Bay channel. Approximately 300ft on the other side of the channel is a residential neighborhood (Parker Rd. and Carroll Ave). The interior of the CDS has no fill and is primarily salt marsh. Several dikes run through the berm and into the interior. GPS points were taken around a pipe and the auger soil sample locations. This pipe runs through the berm and may indicate past dredging activity, the pipe itself is very old and rusty. |

This site is smaller than Site #1 and was
sampled using the soil auger to a depth of 3.0 feet. The material was also very fine sand mixed
with silt and containing organic roots from the natural growth of the salt
marsh. The top 2.0 feet is most likely dredge
material which lies over the natural salt marsh surface.
