94 - Mordecai Island #1 95 - Mordecai Island #2
Mordecai Island is located 200 ft west of the Borough of Beach Haven, Long Beach Island. This salt marsh island is owned by Mordecai Land Trust and is the site of two unconfined disposal sites. Both sites have little to no confinement and appear to be one-time use legacy sites. Mordecai Island #1 (94) is approximately 6.35 acres and is located on the north side of the island, adjacent to Berkeley Avenue. Mordecai Island #2 (95) is approximately 10 acres in size and is located on the south side of the island, adjacent to Liberty Avenue. Spatial data and sediment samples were not collected for either site. All types of vegetation from Phragmites to full-growth trees cover these two locations on Mordecai Island and indicate many years since sediment placement on the island.
