Database:

The data for Ocean County, New Jersey has been placed into a folder structure within this electronic report and its organization is described below.

The database consists of 4 folders:

- Baywaters
- CDF
- kml
- additional_GIS

The "baywaters" folder contains:

-The GIS point shapefile with the sediment sample locations for the waterways of Ocean County. Within the attribute table of shapefile, there contains information regarding percent sand/mud, location (coordinates), and depth (NAVD88).

-A sample location map (.jpg) will all of the sites located in Ocean county.

-A sediment distribution map (.jpg) displaying the percent sand in the waterways for the entire county including Great Bay. This map also contains the bayfloor sediment sample point locations with associated IDs and the adjacent dredged material disposal sites.


The "CDF" folder contains:

-Folders for each delineated disposal site in  Ocean county arranged by CRC given ID number.
-Within each site folder, there are folders containing ground photos, GPS data, and sediment data (stratigraphic logs/grain size).


The "kml" folder contains:

-Google Earth compatible .kml (.kmz) files.

-These files are derived from ESRI shapefiles representing:

Ocean County bayfloor sediment sample locations ("Bayfloor_Sediment_Sample_Locations.kml")

Ocean County disposal sites ("Ocean_County_Disposal_Sites.kml")

Ocean County bayfloor sediment distribution map ("Ocean_County_Bayfloor_Sediment_Distribution_Map.kmz")

New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway ("NJ_IWW.kml")

The "additional_GIS" folder contains:

- Supplemental GIS files created by the CRC to aid in the spatial analysis aspects of this Project (Project #3 will be completed once all field data are collected for the entire state).  For detailed descriptions of the files located herein, navigate to the "source" folders within each additional data's folder and view the metadata.txt file.

- An Excel Spread sheet with dredge site ownership information.

The GIS files included within this folder are:

- Dredging activities in Cape May, Atlantic, and Southern Ocean Counties (including Federal ICW water way projects, State channel projects, and some CDF locations).

- Geochemical data displaying water, sediment, and biological monitoring for an ongoing feasibility study of the New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway.

- Bathymetric data containing historical bathymetric datasets for various coastal areas within the state.

- A Polyline representing the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) for New Jersey extending from Manasquan Inlet to Cape May harbor.

- Locations of all dock and dine restaurants in coastal New Jersey.

- The 1995-97 New Jersey shoreline.
