284 - Thompson's Beach #2
This site is a large (30 acre) Confined Disposal Site (CDS) located in Maurice River Township, Cumberland County. The site is located on the Delaware Bay. The site is located approximately 0.4 miles south of the end of Thompson Beach Road. There is no roadway access to the site as it is surrounded by marsh. The site is relatively low lying with 3 to 5 foot berms and an interior at approximately +1 to +3 feet. Some locations of the interior have elevations below 0 and there are several streams cut into the CDF. Aerial photographs from 2011 indicate patches of dense vegetation as well as patches of standing water on the interior of the CDF. Ownership information for this site identifies Francis Corp & Exelon Gen Co. of Newark NJ as the owner. Sediment volume calculations based on Triangular Irregular Network (TIN) analysis is estimated to be approximately 233,600 cubic yards. This site was not visited in this investigation.
