298 - Eagle Island
This site is a 27 acre Confined Disposal Site (CDS) located in Elsinboro Township, Salem County. The site is relatively low lying with an elevation of approximately +2 to +3 feet. The northwestern and southwestern portion of the site is densely vegetated with trees while the eastern section is relatively sparse. The site is approximately 0.35 miles east of Money Island Road and is a part of the Alloway Creek Wetlands Restoration Trail. This trail bisects the Eagle Island CDS. Ownership information for this site is undefined. Sediment volume calculations based on Triangular Irregular Network (TIN) analysis is estimated to be approximately 199,000 cubic yards. This site was not visited as a part of this investigation. It is not likely that this site can be used for future placement of dredged material.
