306 - Raccoon Island This site is a large Confined Disposal Facility (approximately 478 acres) in Logan Township, Gloucester County. The site is located on the Delaware River adjacent to the Commodore Barry Bridge. Route 322, which leads up to the bridge runs through the northeastern section of the CDF. Additionally, Ferry Road runs through the site from southeast to northwest, in the approximate center of the site and a series of four high tension power lines cross the site near the southern extent of the CDF. There are areas of dense tree coverage in various areas of the site, and dense Phragmites covering most of the interior of the site. The interior elevations of the site range from approximately +18 to +29 feet. The owner of the site is defined as American Atlantic Company of King of Prussia, PA. Sediment volume calculations based on Triangular Irregular Network (TIN) analysis is estimated to be approximately 14,650,000 cubic yards. |
